Marlborough Mid-Week : July 23rd 2014
NEWS Avery speaks at fundraiser breakfast Good form: Top young Marlborough squash player Amelia Wadsworth is waiting anxiously to hear if she has been selected for the New Zealand Secondary Schools squash team to compete in Australia from August 17 to 23. She is among the eight players who have been nominated for the team, however only five are chosen to go and the players will only know if they have been selected a week before. To prepare, Amelia and her mum Raylene are organising a fundraiser in the form of a breakfast tomorrow morning. The event will feature Marlborough personality Doug Avery. Avery is an inspirational Marlborough farmer and motivational speaker with a great deal to share from his life. The breakfast will be held at the Marlborough Room in the Scenic Hotel Marlborough, Blenheim, 7am till 8.30am. Tickets are $40 per person and include a delicious cooked breakfast. For tickets phone or text Raylene on 027 458 9115 or visit Houston Mitsubishi, Scott St, Blenheim and ask for Phil. There will be no door sales. If Amelia isn’t selected the money will go towards covering the costs of attending future tournaments. Photo: FILE Alyssums Gifts, Home & Kitchen CROSSWORD TOP 10 YOUR STARS THE TOP 10 1.
